Cuando la polic\u00eda de Long Island (Nueva York), descubri\u00f3 la relaci\u00f3n que exist\u00eda entre el suicidio de una joven de 17 a\u00f1os y los mensajes que recib\u00eda a trav\u00e9s de la red social online Formspring, lanz\u00f3 una alerta a las escuelas de Estados Unidos y comenz\u00f3 a investigar el origen de esta comunidad virtual creada en 2009, que cada vez tiene m\u00e1s usuarios y est\u00e1 siendo utilizada por los j\u00f3venes para ciberacosar<\/a> a sus compa\u00f1eros.<\/p>\n

Formspring (m\u00e1s de 135 millones de visitantes, 100 millones de mensajes cada mes) invita a los usuarios a decirle a alguien de manera an\u00f3nima cosas que no se atrever\u00eda a comentarle personalmente. John Wechsler, uno de los creadores del web, explica que su intenci\u00f3n es la de abrir un espacio para que la gente diga lo que realmente piensa.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, desde que fue abierta se han detectado varios casos de ciberbullying<\/em> de tal manera que padres y educadores ya han pedido que se bloquee de alguna manera el acceso a dicho web.<\/p>\n

Ante la fuerte oleada de cr\u00edticas Wechsler y sus socios publicaron un comunicado en el que reconocen que esta red social puede promover el ciberbullying, \u201cpero gracias a Dios el porcentaje de usuarios que recurre a esta pr\u00e1ctica es muy bajo. Adem\u00e1s, lo que se quiere es impulsar el di\u00e1logo en situaciones donde la persona tal vez no se decidir\u00eda a comunicarse de otra manera\u201d.<\/em> En dicho comunicado reiteraron adem\u00e1s su compromiso con el m\u00e1ximo anonimato en las preguntas o respuestas que los usuarios dejan en la red.<\/p>\n
